Kursusindhold
This course zooms in on the operational level of sustainable
business models in society. The main goal of this course is to
provide participants with tools and frameworks to analyze,
evaluate, improve, and create business models that address major
sustainability challenges. We will revisit and critique modern
sustainability thinking in business, analyze business model
innovation through a sustainability lens, and examine how
“fundamental” frameworks in strategy and operations can be adapted
to build innovative sustainability initiatives. We will then dive
deeper into emerging sustainability topics such as Regeneration,
Industry Self-Regulation, AI and Society, and Decarbonization. We
will engage in various case discussions, simulations, and group
exercises throughout the course. Importantly, many of the course’s
activities allow participants to apply course concepts to design an
innovative business model in the context of their choice. At the
end of the course, participants will propose a business model
innovation that addresses a social or environmental need (either
within an existing company or as a start-up idea).
