Overordnede kursusmål
This course focuses on the relationship between creativity and innovation, and how design thinking and user involvement can be used to develop socially sustainable solutions through empathy building, use of dialogue tools and design methods. There will be an active focus on the SDG pledge of Leaving No One Behind, where course participants will be introduced to universal design and inclusion. The course introduces a consultancy case process which will also cover later courses.
Læringsmål
En studerende, der fuldt ud har opfyldt kursets mål, vil kunne:
  • Analyze and reflect on the advantages and disadvantages of involving stakeholders in the design processes
  • Understand the significance of stakeholders in and for the involvement of different types of design process participants
  • Explain the advantages and disadvantages of using universal design to promote interdisciplinary collaboration
  • Apply appropriate facilitation style in in an innovation sprint
  • Reflect on the use of workshop co-creation techniques in the design process
  • Design and facilitate an innovation sprint with the support of the acquired learning material
  • Debate the importance of inclusion and universal design in innovation processes
  • Provide peer feedback on sustainability driven innovation solutions
Kursusindhold
There will be an active focus on the SDG pledge of Leaving No One Behind, where course participants will be introduced to universal design and inclusion. We focus on a general introduction to creativity, design thinking, and inclusion. The first part of the course will finish with culminate in an assignment facilitated by the lecturers where the students utilize tools designed to enable a different focus when developing user understanding to develop a more inclusive solution. The second part will focus more specifically on co-creation, user-involvement and facilitation of innovation processes and will culminate in an innovation sprint, where the course participants will deploy their knowledge and actively try out different methods and facilitation. The course introduces the start of the consultancy project, that runs throughout the whole semester. The consultancy project with a company can involve collaborating to identify and implement strategies that improve the company’s environmental, social, and economic performance. The goal is to create long-term value for the company by helping to adopt practices that are environmentally friendly, socially responsible, and economically viable, aligning with global sustainability standards and enhancing the company's brand reputation.
