Overordnede kursusmål
The focus of the course is measurement techniques used in and around wind turbines –including use of the relevant international standards and evaluation of uncertainty.
Læringsmål
En studerende, der fuldt ud har opfyldt kursets mål, vil kunne:
  • Design outlines of data acquisition systems considering the requirements and the local conditions.
  • Organise wind measurements in a database.
  • Perform quality control on wind measurements.
  • Define the concept of uncertainty for a measured quantity.
  • Identify relevant measurement standards in wind energy.
  • Analyse wind speed measurements for a wind resource assessment.
  • Determine wind turbine power performance from measurements.
  • Determine structural properties for a wind turbine from measurements.
  • Select the most suitable wind measurement technology.
  • Explain different methods for structural loads measurements on wind turbines.
  • Explain wind turbine noise measurements.
Kursusindhold
Core elements of the course are:
• Data acquisition and data management
• Measurement uncertainty
• Wind measurements
• Wind turbine power performance measurement
• Wind turbine loads and structural response measurements
• Wind turbine noise measurements
• Wind energy measurement standards

Format of the course:
• The course will be divided in 13 modules (one per week). Every module will start with a short online lecture and will include one or two training exercises or a quiz.
• The lecture will be supported either with videos, video or written tutorials and/or reading material depending on the module.
• The final grade will be based on an overall assessment of the assignments (exercises to be submitted to the teachers for 7 modules) and the written exam.
