The program is based on action learning where theories, methods, concepts and tools are employed on real business challenges and issues from the participants companies. Lectures are paralleled by casework, group work and assignments.

The main objective is to understand and address the value, but also challenges and opportunities of analytics projects from a management perspective
Læringsmål
En studerende, der fuldt ud har opfyldt kursets mål, vil kunne:
  • apply a first data analysis, present results and derive further analysis opportunities
  • identify challenges in data analytics projects
  • define the business value of data analytics projects
  • describe the elements of a data analytics strategy in a company
  • perform an in-depth analysis on challenges and solutions in data analytics projects
  • analyze a topic from the curriculum in the own company by integrating additional literature and compose an academic report

Kursusindhold
Business Analytics is about exploring and analyzing large amounts of data to gain insights into retrospective business relationships to support future decisions and planning. The course trains participants to use descriptive analyses for obtaining insight and measure past performance from historical data; predictive analyses for modelling the future; and prescriptive analyses for recommending decisions for future action. After completing the course, participants will be able to select and apply appropriate methods from each analysis form to specific business cases.
