Overordnede kursusmål
The purpose of the course is to help students learn to combine insights about real-world management and leadership issues with practical consulting experience. The course consists of scheduled class meetings, client meetings, a class presentation and final individual report related to the consulting experience.
DTU students will work together with visiting students from Johns Hopkins University to develop solutions for a specific client, and have the opportunity to interact with its stakeholders such as clients and managers in the Copenhagen area, reflect on organizational processes, and receive on-going guidance and formal end-of-experience feedback.
Læringsmål
En studerende, der fuldt ud har opfyldt kursets mål, vil kunne:
  • Frame problems faced by clients (social ventures);
  • Understand the context in the commercial, organizational, strategic and societal situation of the client’s business;
  • Communicate with various stakeholders of the clients;
  • Identify the interests and unsatisfied needs of the client and the organization’s stakeholders;
  • Generate insightful and actionable solutions for a social business venture;
  • Work in a multi-cultural team environment ;
  • Effectively communicate the thought verbally and in written form;
  • Deliver quality consulting work products.

Bemærkninger
The course is developed and taught by Johns Hopkins University’s Whiting School of Engineering especially for visiting students from Johns Hopkins University but is open to all DTU students. Participation is limited to 7 students from Johns Hopkins University and 11 students from DTU. Within the course period, students will also go to visit Danfoss headquarters in Nordborg/Sonderborg and stay there overnight.
