Overordnede kursusmål
Global markets, short product life cycles and high expectations from customers require effective supply chain management in order for business enterprises to maintain a competitive advantage. Supply chains are complex networks consisting of suppliers, manufacturers, distributors, retailers, etc., that collaborate in bringing a product or service to the customer. Activities within supply networks have to be well coordinated and integrated in order to be able to reduce costs and improve customer service. The purpose of this course is to build intuition into the essential tools and concepts for designing and managing the supply chain effectively.
Læringsmål
En studerende, der fuldt ud har opfyldt kursets mål, vil kunne:
  • Explain fundamental terminology and concepts in supply chain management
  • Identify the sources of tradeoffs and inefficiencies in supply chains
  • Distinguish between cost-efficient and responsive supply chains
  • Summarize the importance of supply chain coordination and integration
  • Apply fundamental managerial insights to the design and management of supply chains
  • Perform quantitative and qualitative evaluations of decision making problems in supply chains
  • Apply the main quantitative tools used in supply chain planning and design
  • Analyse case studies in supply chain management
