Undervisningsform:

The course consists of connected lectures, written exercises, and laboratory work.

Work load: Approximately 140 hours corresponding to 5 ECTS points, including a week at DTU, preparatory reading

Written report Accepted / not accepted. Diplomas certifying the completion of the course will be issued to those attendees who have 1) attended the lectures and 2) completed a written report on a subject handed out during the course week.

Reports are due by September 30 2007.

The participants are expected to have a basic knowledge of concrete technology. All lectures will be given in English.

To provide the students with understanding the underlying mechanisms of flow of suspensions and enable them to select methods of testing and propose mix compositions.

The following subjects are covered in the course: • Rheology of fluids • Rheology and flow of suspensions • Packing of particles • Forces between particles and dispersion mechanism • Time dependent phenomena - thixotropy and coagulation Self-compacting concrete (SCC)
