This course aims to introduce theoretical and practical factors affecting the successful management of construction projects. The main focus of the course is on people and the manner in which they interact. Emphasis is on developing a deeper understanding of how the success of construction projects is affected by the collective actions of the temporary construction team. The ability to put teams together that can communicate and hence operate efficiently and effectively is seen as a key factor in helping to ensure project success. Focus is on the design and implementation of effective project organisations and their relationship to organisational effectiveness. Emphasis is on communication and team building to deliver value in a lean project environment.
