Kursusindhold
The focus of this module is to provide students with a holistic overview of how new products and services may be generated effectively. Often described as “innovation” when referring to the activities conducted by large corporates and as “entrepreneurship” to emphasize the agility of new companies, both try to explore the same question: how can firms identify valuable ideas, develop those into promising prototypes for products and services, and eventually make a profit on those on the market?

The Innovation and Entrepreneurship module is split into three main units:
- Innovation strategy: we will look at how to link innovation to strategy, how to design and implement innovation strategy, key tools in innovation management, and innovation and strategy may shift through collaboration in an increasingly connected world
- Where innovation begins: the focus of these sessions is on the first stage of the innovation process, the so called fuzzy-front end, where we will explore systematic ways for idea generation through research-based models for systematic innovation.
- Transforming your companies and the world through innovation and entrepreneurship: our study tour takes us to the San Francisco Bay Area to experience a unique innovation ecosystem consisting of world-class research universities, tremendous entrepreneurial activity, an abundance of investment capital, a diverse workforce, social and professional networks, and a risk-friendly business culture. This eclectic mix of innovation components will be studied under the guidance of scholars and entrepreneurs affiliated with UC Berkeley, Haas School of Business; one of the foremost entrepreneurial universities in the world, and visits to companies to meet business leaders from Silicon Valley. The study tour focuses on providing an intense, unique opportunity to capture insights from the Silicon Valley mindset and skillset.
